Matt is responsible for structuring, syndicating and managing middle-market debt investments for the Freeport loan funds. Prior to joining Freeport in 2006, Matt was a Director of Dymas Capital Management Company where he originated, underwrote and managed investments in private equity sponsored transactions. Prior to his role at Dymas, Matt was a Vice President on GE Capital's Merchant Banking Syndications Team (through its acquisition of Heller Financial), where he structured and placed senior and subordinated financings. He received his B.S. in Finance, cum laude, from Northern Illinois University (1992) and his MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (1994).
Brody is responsible for marketing the Freeport Loan Funds and sourcing middle market debt investments. Brody entered the financial services industry in 1993 at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) working on the trading desk of Cargill International. Immediately prior to assuming his current responsibilities at Freeport, Brody served as a portfolio specialist for FrontPoint Partners. Brody had joined Morgan Stanley Investment Management in 2002 as a Regional Vice President covering Washington, D.C. . Prior to joining Morgan Stanley, Brody spent three years in the manufacturing industry as an International Product Manager and three years as a Financial Consultant at Merrill Lynch. Brody received his BA in economics from Miami University (1995). Brody currently holds the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) designation.
Josh is responsible for sourcing, structuring and managing middle-market debt investments for the Freeport loan funds. Prior to co-founding Freeport in 2005, Josh spent seven years with GE Capital Services, including two years in GE's Financial Management Program. While at GE, Josh worked in numerous roles including mergers & acquisitions, acquisition integration, finance and GE's Six Sigma Quality organization. His most recent role was in the Global Sponsor Finance unit where he was a Senior Vice President responsible for originating, structuring and underwriting leveraged transactions. Josh has a B.A. in Economics from Kalamazoo College (1996) and earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University (2003).
Steve is responsible for underwriting and managing middle-market debt investments for the Freeport loan funds. Prior to co-founding Freeport in 2005, Steve spent five years with GE Commercial Finance where he worked in the Global Sponsor Finance Group. In various roles at GE, Steve was responsible for originating, underwriting and managing investments in leveraged transactions. Steve also worked as a certified Black Belt where he was responsible for redesigning multiple risk processes for Commercial Finance's cash flow loan portfolio. Prior to joining GE, Steve was an engineering consultant focusing on operations and design. Steve has a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan (1990) and earned his MBA (Highest Distinction) from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan (2000).
Joe is responsible for underwriting and managing middle-market debt investments for the Freeport loan funds. Prior to co-founding Freeport in 2005, Joe spent five years with GE Commercial Finance where he worked in the Global Sponsor Finance Group. In his role at GE, Joe was responsible for originating, underwriting and managing senior and junior debt facilities and equity co-investments in leveraged transactions. Prior to joining GE, Joe practiced corporate litigation at Baker & McKenzie in Chicago. Joe received his B.S. in Management, summa cum laude, from Boston College (1992), his law degree, cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School (1995) and his MBA from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan (2001).
